Born and raised in Youngstown Ohio in a home filled with several genres of music playing from Classical, Jazz, Blues, Soft Rock, and R&B.
Taught to sing by her father who studied operatic voice and who also directed the church choir of her youth.
Vickie sang in elementary, middle, and high school choirs. She sings every Sunday with her church choir at Peaceful Waters Ministries in Southfield Michigan, under the leadership of Pastor Renaye Coles.
Not only does Vickie sing, but she also writes songs. βArms Opened Wideβ was written as a tribute to the Lord for releasing her from the grips of unhealthy relationships she had experienced in life.
Fun Fact: Her dad would often sit with her at the keyboard, organ, or piano and sing songs with her, matching her voice to the ebony and ivory keys while singing scales, hymns, and the liturgical praise music, sung each Sunday at Victory Lutheran Church, in her hometown.
Vickie joined the Spiritual Therapy Group after seeing a βliveβ concert at the Upper Room in our great city of Detroit. One of the songs, My Favorite Things, was the catalyst to sparking her interest in singing with the group.
It is with Spiritual Therapy where her song βArms Opened Wideβ was recognized, recorded and released on the EP of Spiritual Therapyβs βGod's Testimonyβ in 2017. However, singing with Spiritual Therapy has also allowed her to grow in the ministries by supporting advocacy
