Joshua Servel Davis is an up-and-coming composer, playwright, and educator. A Detroit native, Joshua honed his craft as a singer and composer at the esteemed Detroit High School of Arts. He furthered his education as a music major at Claflin University in South Carolina, where he studied the rudiments of music theory, music history, ear training, and vocal pedagogy.
A year after graduating college, He joined Spiritual Therapy Band in 2015. Since then, heβs been an active team player serving as Tenor, vocal warmup leader, and songwriter. Heβs credited as songwriter of one of the songs on the groups Ep entitled βGodβs Testimony,β by co-writing with Clayton Savage the song βI Am Forgivenβ Josh also assists in the piano chords to the original music to βSt. Jude Songβ for the Spiritual Therapy Foundation in 2021.
He has written music for several Musicals and Plays which includes βLiving In A Pipe Dreamβ (2018) βThree Crossesβ (2019) βAmerican Skinβ (2021) βPassport To Christmasβ (2023) and βMisty Sharonβs Asylumβ (2017) A mental health awareness show written by yours truly with additional music/lyrics by Keke Smith and Taran Knight.
Joshua Davis is a full-time music teacher with Detroit Public Schools Community District. He feels he has to give back to what was forwarded to him.
